I grew up competitively playing all different types of sports (soccer, gymnastics, tennis, field hockey, diving, and swimming), but ultimately stuck with competitive swimming for the Lakeside Seahawks until I was recruited to swim Division 1 for Ohio University. During my 13 years of competitive swimming experience, my accomplishments included winning the high school state championship and competing at Junior Nationals, competing at MAC championships during college, and setting many state records during my time with the Lakeside Seahawks. I found CrossFit after retiring from the sport of swimming and fell in love with the inclusion and empowerment the sport has on nutrition and lifelong fitness. I entered recovery from a lifelong struggle with anorexia and depression in 2013 and have been strengthening others, as well as my own, relationship with food ever since. I look to continue furthering my nutrition knowledge and providing a valuable resource for members to enhance both their personal fitness and nutrition journey.
A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created for the bliss of souls like mine. I am so happy, my dear friend, so absorbed in the exquisite sense of mere tranquil existence, that I neglect my talents. I should be incapable of drawing a single stroke at the present moment. I throw myself down among the tall grass by the trickling stream; and, as I lie close to the earth. Thousand unknown plants are noticed by me. When I hear the buzz of the little world among the stalks, and grow familiar with the countless.
