What brought you to DCCF?
I had been wanting to pursue crossfit ever since I watched Daryl Williams at kentuckiana’s fittest 2013. I tested the waters in Bowling Green, ky at Vette city crossfit. I caught the itch and was looking for a Louisville gym. Daryl told me how good the coaches were and it was a great group of people at DCCF. I’ve felt welcome ever since. I feel like I’ve added to my fam!
Who inspires you at DCCF?
The coaches always get me Rollin. Always pushing me, but keeping me level headed, which lets me know they care about technique and form. My bros, Daryl and Jason, give me so much competition when we workout as a trio. I Feed off it. Everybody in the mornings gets me pumped, rockin the wods at 6am!
Did you play any sports in High School or College? Past athletic history?
I played football and baseball in high school but never touched a weight. I graduated in 2002 at 140 lbs if skin and bones. Wasn’t until just before I joined the army reserves did I really start hittin the weights.
Since joining, what changes have you seen in your life?
I eat better, I move better, my body is overall more efficient. Being a physical therapist I find myself intrigued by body mechanics with the crossfit movements, and throughout my daily life.
What are your proudest accomplishments in CrossFit?
3:07 Fran, the moment I didn’t allow cleans and snatches intimidate me anymore, and completing the 2014 open.

If you could have a theme song playing when you workout, what would it be?
Clique by Kanye, jay-Z, and Big Sean bc my Crossfit crew is legit, I believe in strength in numbers.
Are you paleo? Zone? Neither? Some of all? What is your experience with that?
I’m paleoesque. I don’t follow strict paleo, however since the beginning of the year I’ve ditched breads, pasta and sodas. I’m going towards veggies and meats. I’ve leaned up a lot and feel great. I’m pleased at how I look.
Do you use CrossFit principals in any other areas of your life?
Of course. Crossfit principals are apart of my profession. Arthrokinematics and mobility are founded in PT.
If we named a WOD for you, what would it consist of?
I would want pull-ups strict, bench press, and squats. 3 movements for total body.
What do you like to do in your down time?
I eat a lot! I just bought a home so right now my downtime consists of home stuff. Trying to paint, spackle, and find furniture. Otherwise I thoroughly enjoy hanging with friends and family. Every day is a good day with something to be thankful for.
