Background
I’ve been involved in CrossFit 2008, so I’ve seen it evolve through many forms. In the process, my perspective on coaching has evolved as well, due to a myriad of influences including the Postural Restoration Institute, Dan John, Mike Robertson, Bill Hartman, Eric Cressey, and Jim Laird in the realm of human movement; Chad Wesley Smith, Brandon Lilly, and JL Holdsworth in the world of powerlifting; and Jim Schmitts and Wil Fleming in the world of weightlifting. I try to make human movement understandable for all levels of athletes while teaching efficiency and technique best suited to a person’s particular anatomy. I also believe in the importance of helping athletes improve their mindset and self-talk, as mentality can have a great affect on performance. If you’re not having fun while training then you’re limiting your progress.
